What Branded SMS Pro does

Branded SMS Pro connects your Shopify store to a masked sender ID SMS route. Order events trigger templated texts to buyers, staff numbers get new order alerts, and you can send bulk campaigns to past customers filtered by spend or order date. Because the sender shows your store name rather than a numeric shortcode, recipients recognise the message instantly. The app also handles Urdu Unicode correctly, so you know how many segments a message will cost before you send it.

What you get

Order status alerts

A template per event: order placed, payment received, fulfilled with tracking, out for delivery, delivered, cancelled and refunded. Each one toggles independently.

OTP sending

Generate and deliver one-time codes for phone verification, with configurable code length and expiry. Pairs with checkout verification flows for cash on delivery orders.

Admin and staff alerts

Notify warehouse or owner numbers when an order arrives, when stock runs low, or when a high-value order needs manual review before dispatch.

Bulk campaigns

Message past customers segmented by order count, total spend, last order date, city or product purchased, with a scheduled send window and opt-out handling.

Sender ID registration

We prepare and submit the sender ID paperwork for the local operator and PTA process, and the app shows registration status per mask.

Unicode segment counting

Urdu and mixed-script messages count at 70 characters per segment, not 160. The composer shows live segment count so campaign cost is never a surprise.

How it works

  1. 1

Install the app and connect your SMS account credentials, or let us provision an account for your store.

  2. 2

Register your sender ID mask and wait for operator approval, using a shared route meanwhile.

  3. 3

Switch on the order events you want, edit each template and send a test to your own number.

  4. 4

Go live, then track sent, delivered and failed counts per template in the delivery report.

Why merchants run it

Reaches every handset

SMS needs no app, no data connection and no smartphone. For rural deliveries and older buyers it is often the only channel that lands.

Trust at the sender line

A message from your store name is read. A message from an unknown eleven-digit number is ignored or reported, and your tracking link goes unclicked.

Cheap reactivation

A campaign to lapsed buyers costs a fraction of paid acquisition and reaches people who already trusted you with a delivery address.

Backup when WhatsApp fails

Numbers with no WhatsApp account, or messages that never get delivered, can fall back to SMS so the customer still gets the update.

Frequently asked questions

How long does sender ID approval take?

Timelines depend on the operator and on how complete your documentation is. Registration generally needs your business registration, a letter on company letterhead and the exact mask you want. While approval is pending, your messages can run on a shared route so nothing is blocked.

Can customers reply to a branded message?

No. Alphanumeric sender IDs are send-only by design. If you need two-way conversation, route replies to WhatsApp or a dedicated long number instead. Most merchants include a WhatsApp contact link in the message body for that reason.

Why do Urdu messages cost more?

Urdu uses Unicode encoding, which fits 70 characters into a single segment against 160 for plain Latin text. A long Urdu message can therefore span several segments and bill several times. The composer shows this live so you can trim before sending.

Do I still need WhatsApp notifications?

They serve different audiences. WhatsFlow Notify gives you rich messages, read receipts and images. SMS gives you universal reach. Running both, with SMS as the fallback when WhatsApp delivery fails, covers the widest customer base.
